Bowling and a Sad Adieu
Date: Saturday, May 07 @ 21:31:31 EDT
Topic: Event Recap

A little over a year from that last time, six Western Mass. No Kids members showed up to give bowling at the AMF Chicopee center a second try. SirGeek and CallieMo had the advantage of being league bowlers, but LumLum, John, Peggy and Dave hadn't bowled since the last gathering.

Once again, the ladies teamed up to battle the men. Linda/CallieMo started out with a nice 153 game, then faltered on the next two games. She ended up with a 110 average for the day. Peggy flew out of the gate with a great 132 game and finished with a nice 108 average for her efforts. Linda/Lumlum started slowly but was beginning to really warm up by the end of the third game. Matt/SirGeek showed us all what bowling lessons can do to help one's game, bowling 175, 171 and 150 for the day. This year, Dave decided to show us his true bowling skills and bowled an overall average of 134. We suspect that John's been practicing in the intervening year because this year he had a greatly improved 115 average. As usual, there was much laughter and camaraderie. After the bowling was over, the group proceeded to a local restaurant for dinner. Want to see some pictures? Click on this link to go to the photo gallery. (Sorry for the so-so photo quality but bowling centers aren't exactly the best lit of places.) If you haven't yet attended a Western Mass. No Kids event but have been interested, please do join us for one. You'll meet some fun and interesting people. On a sad note, we all want to wish Dave and Peggy a sad farewell as they're moving back out to the Midwest. We'll miss them greatly and will remember them fondly. Take care, you two!
